, Signature of the constitution act and official presentation of the Foundation (patronage of Cassa di Risparmio di Trento and Rovereto, then Fondazione Caritro)

Official recognition by the President of the Italian Republic

Settlement of the first Board of Directors, which established:

  • A biennial international award for cancer research
  • The International Selection Committee, chaired by Prof. Umberto Veronesi
1988

First International Award to Vincent De Vita, at the presence of Prof. Pezcoller and Prof. Veronesi

1989

First Pezcoller Symposium aimed to promote interaction among top scientists working at the cutting edge of basic oncological sciences

1991

Prof. Pezcoller and Prof. Veronesi in 1991

1994

Establishment of the FECS – PEZCOLLER RECOGNITION for contribution to oncology. A biennial award, to recognize a single health professional for dedication of his/her professional life to the fight against cancer. (Discontinued)

1997

Strategic partnership with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) formal agreement executed on April 13, 1997

  • the award becomes annual and
  • named PEZCOLLER FOUNDATION – AACR INTERNATIONAL AWARD FOR CANCER RESEARCH

Partnership with the Italian Cancer Society (SIC) for the establishment of RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS

2012

Strategic partnership with the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR)

  • to establish the PEZCOLLER FOUNDATION – EACR CANCER RESEARCHER AWARD
    to a young european researcher

Renewal of the formal agreement between Pezcoller Foundation and AACR.

  • The award is named the Pezcoller Foundation – AACR International Award for EXTRAORDINARY ACHIEVEMENT IN CANCER RESEARCH.

Agreement between the Pezcoller Foundation and the Museum of Science of Trento, MUSE, aimed to promote the communication of scientific culture to the general population, to foster the growth of responsible and inclusive citizenship.

2020

Partnership with the University of Trento for the establishment of RESEARCH PHD FELLOWSHIPS.

Renewal of the formal agreement between Pezcoller Foundation and EACR and establishment of a new award: the PEZCOLLER FOUNDATION – MARINA LARCHER FOGAZZARO – EACR WOMEN IN CANCER RESEARCH AWARD.

2022

In collaboration with EACR and the new scientific partner The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research, a new award established: the EACR – MARK FOUNDATION – PEZCOLLER FOUNDATION – RISING STAR AWARD.

The Pezcoller Foundation is recognized with the OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD by the AACR.

2023

New collaboration among the Pezcoller Foundation, the EACR and The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research.

2025

the Pezcoller Foundation moves to new headquarters: Bortolazzi Larcher Fogazzaro Palace, a historic building in the center of Trento (Italy).
